| Description | Eric Lundgren has been a social entrepreneur and environmentalist his entire adult life. Lundgren started his first computer recycling company at the age of 16 in the small town of Lynden, Washington and three (3) years later moved it to Los Angeles. By the age of 19, Lundgren's company was recycling computers for Fortune 500 companies such as American Airlines worldwide. Lundgren became aware of the inefficiency of US Based eWaste recycling solutions. Lundgren found that broken and obsolete electronics were simply being crushed and smelted destroying all the potential re-usable value inside while only salvaging the lowest format of commodity value. While on a trip to Shenzhen, China Lundgren was able to see a new type of electronic recycling process. Chinese recyclers were actually salvaging the working components within broken electronics to build new products. At the age of 23, Lundgren traveled to China and stayed for five (5) years perfecting this new format of electronic recycling. After building some great partnerships and learning as much as possible; Lundgren returned back home to the USA and opened the first Hybrid Electronic Recycling Plant. Microsoft and Eric Lundgren |
